With regard to photos taken by the gantry cameras, is it possible to see the faces of the vehicle’s occupants and to identify them ?
The only purpose for using cameras is to identify the vehicles in order to be able to collect the toll charge.
The cameras are positioned in such a way that the angle of view and the resolution of the images allow, in particular, for the needs of the operation :
- read vehicle registration plates,
- detect the possible presence of an electronic toll tag on the windscreen, particularly in the event of customer complaints following the non-detection of the electronic toll tag on the windscreen. These complaints require visual verification of whether or not the electronic toll tag is present on the windscreen.
