On June 19th, the A14 motorway between Paris and Normandy became the 1st motorway in France to switch entirely to free-flow tolling. No more barriers, just enjoy your journey without stopping, and pay your toll later, within 72h after your trip.

In December 2024, the A13 will also switch to free-flow tolling, and therefore, the whole Paris-Normandy motorways will work with this new toll system.

What is free-flow tolling ?

Flux-Libre

Free-flow tolling means the end of successive stops at toll gates. No need to stop anymore, just keep on driving and pay later.

What if no more barriers ?
A new free-flow toll system has been introduced on the A14 motorway, with the deployment of gantries equipped with cameras and sensors.  This equipment records the data useful to calculate your toll (route taken, vehicle category, license plate, …) as you pass through the gantries, without you having to stop or slow down. The system recognizes all types of vehicle, whether you're a French or foreign driver.

So how do you pay free-flow tolling ?
Once you’ve driven throughout your destination, you have 72 hours to pay. You can choose  the payment solution that suits you best :

  • Online at sanef.com : if you create an account, you may activate automatic payment or have an email notification sent whenever your car is detected. That way, you are certain not to forget !
  • At a tobacconist in the Nirio network
  • Using an electronic toll tag
