What happens if I don't pay my journey through the free-flow toll ?

After your journey on a free-flow motorway, you must pay your toll within 72 hours.

Beyond this deadline, non-payment of the toll is considered as an offence and gives rise to a payment notice being sent.

  • Payment within 15 days after the notice is sent : the flat-rate penalty is reduced to €10, in addition to the toll charge to be paid.
  • Payment within 15 days and 2 months after the notice is sent : the flat-rate penalty is increased to €90, in addition to the toll charge to be paid.
  • Payment beyond 2 months after the notice is sent : pursuant to the law, a category IV increased fine in the sum of €375 is applied by the Police Court.

NB, penalties are triggered for each journey on the free-flow motorway. For example, a late payment for a return journey made on the same day will give rise to 2 separate payment notices.
